2024

ANNIVERSARIES OF SIMON HEGELE HEALTHCARE SOLUTIONS IN THE USA AND MEXICO

Simon Hegele Healthcare Solutions is celebrating two milestones in its development as an international logistics and service provider for the healthcare industry with the 10th anniversary of its presence in Mexico and its 20th anniversary in the USA. 

2022 – 2023

EXPANSION OF THE GROUP OF COMPANIES AND KNOW-HOW IN THE AREAS OF PHARMACEUTICALS, PACKAGING AND TRANSPORT

With the founding of Pharma Solutions GmbH, Simon Hegele responds to the increasing demand for services for the pharmaceutical industry and enters a new business segment. The acquisition of a majority stake in packaging specialists Georg Schrepfer GmbH and Oehler Verpackung GmbH further expands the service portfolio. With the acquisition of shares in the French transport service provider CST Transports and the German company Lennox Transport GmbH, the logistics service provider increases its capacities in the area of specialized transport and the rigging and assembly of large medical devices in Germany and abroad.

2021

SIMON HEGELE SETS THE COURSE FOR THE FUTURE WITH AN MBO AND EXPANDS IN NORTH AMERICA AND THE ASEAN REGION

As part of a succession plan with a management buyout, the European private equity firm EMZ Partners has acquired a majority stake in Simon Hegele. With this strategic partnership, Simon Hegele sets the course for further growth and enables the management team to significantly increase its share in the company. Dieter Hegele remains a shareholder in the group of companies. In addition to the strategic orientation within the company, the group is pushing ahead with its expansion strategy with a new location in Singapore and the expansion of capacities in Mexico.

2020

SIMON HEGELE TURNS 100 AND STEFAN ULRICH BECOMES CEO OF THE SIMON HEGELE GROUP

In the anniversary year, Dieter Hegele, who continues to be the principal shareholder of Simon Hegele Holding GmbH, will appoint his successor. With the appointment of Stefan Ulrich as CEO, the fundamental strategic realignment of the Simon Hegele Group is considered to be complete.
As a further step in the organizational change, Christoph Ludin (Industry & Retail), Karim-Oliver Darvich (Industry & Retail) and Mike Winter (Healthcare) are strengthening the management of Simon Hegele Gesellschaft für Logistik und Service mbH.

2019

SIMON HEGELE FORCHHEIM CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY

The Forchheim site celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2019. From today's perspective, a success story began in 1994 with the relocation of Baiersdorf. Today the region around Forchheim is the central hub for the Healthcare Division. In the Forchheim region alone, more than 600 employees now work at eight locations. 5.525 contributions of large medical equipment per year are made from Forchheim.

2018

SIMON HEGELE ACQUIRES MAJORITY STAKE IN EDS-R HEALTHCARE LOGISTICS GMBH

Simon Hegele Gesellschaft für Logistik und Service mbH acquires a 74.9 percent majority stake in eds-r Healthcare Logistics GmbH. Simon Hegele thus strengthens the existing service portfolio in the fields of dismantling, recycling and refurbishment of medical technology equipment. eds-r Healthcare Logistics GmbH has its headquarters in Forchheim.

2017

SIMON HEGELE BUNDLES WORLDWIDE LOGISTICS ACTIVITIES UNDER A NEW HOLDING COMPANY - MANAGEMENT ACQUIRES 20 PERCENT OF THE SHARES

Dieter Hegele will contribute his shares in the previously separately managed group companies in Europe and USA/Overseas to the newly founded Simon Hegele Holding GmbH as of December 31, 2016. From now on, the company group will be managed by Dieter Hegele, managing partner, and Stefan Ulrich, managing director.

In connection with the transaction, Stefan Ulrich and the managers Christoph Ludin, Christoph Sitzer and Mike Winter have acquired a total of 20 percent of Simon Hegele Holding.

2014

CHANGE IN SHARE STRUCTURE AND EXPANSION OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

Dieter Hegele takes over all shares of the company together with SH eins Beteiligungs GmbH. In addition, the Group will enter the South American market in 2014 and open a location in Mexico.

1988 – 2012

ABOVE AVERAGE GROWTH AND EXPANSION

Simon Hegele becomes a logistics specialist operating worldwide. Established or acquired subsidiaries, joint ventures and efficient locations at home and abroad ensure a dynamic growth spurt. Among others, new locations will be opened in Erlangen, Forchheim, Duisburg, Kemnath, Berlin, Nuremberg and Frankfurt. Simon Hegele is also positioning itself on the international market, opening locations in Istanbul (Turkey), Abingdon (Great Britain), Chicago (USA) and Brisbane (Australia).

1985

DIETER HEGELE BECOMES A SHAREHOLDER

Dieter Hegele becomes a shareholder of Simon Hegele in 1985.

1960 – 1984

THE DEVELOPMENT TO A HIGHLY SPECIALIZED SERVICE PROVIDER BEGINS

At the beginning of the 60s, the first high-tech transports are already being carried out in addition to the moving business. Dieter Hegele joins the company in 1964 and over the next 20 years successfully drives the development of the company into a highly specialized service provider. Helene Hegele dies in 1974 and Karl Hegele leaves the company in 1983 for reasons of age. Kurt Hegele will actively support the company until his death in 1997.

1946 – 1959

GENERATION CHANGE

The forwarding agency Simon Hegele, which largely exists only on paper after the end of the war, is taken over and rebuilt by his widow Helene Hegele and the children. In addition to carrying out removals, Simon Hegele also handles the delivery of dairy products to retailers.

1920 – 1945

EARLY YEARS

The history of the Simon Hegele company begins in 1920 with a wagon and two horses. The name giver himself founded a furniture transport company in Karlsruhe, which will grow steadily in the coming years. During the Second World War, the vehicle fleet acquired up to 1939 is completely requisitioned. In the last year of the war, the company founder Simon Hegele dies.
