Having worked with the Simon Hegele Group for many years, what do you see as the group’s greatest strengths and unique characteristics? How do you believe these strengths bring value to both customers and employees?

What makes the Simon Hegele Group special is our service portfolio. It includes much more than “normal” logistics services. Thanks to our close relationship with our customers, whom we see as true partners, we have become deeply integrated into their value chains and offer high-quality end-to-end solutions—and we do so with enthusiasm, creating real added value.


As Co-CEO in the new management structure, what are your top priority issues to address first, and what are your strategic priorities in the short, medium, and long term?

In the short term, my main focus is on the economic stability of our company and the global expansion of our 360-degree healthcare portfolio. We are leveraging the international opportunities offered by the Nippon Group to establish our claim “We make healthcare work” worldwide. Our customers and employees are always at the center of our activities. In the medium to long term, we are striving to expand our global services on all continents. The aim is to strengthen our international presence, tap into new markets, and consolidate our market leadership as a partner for large medical equipment.
 

In terms of the healthcare business, what do you see as the main drivers for further growth in the coming years? What specific approaches or initiatives do you have in mind to achieve this growth?

High global population growth, rising life expectancy, and a market that remains undersaturated in many regions of the world where healthcare is still at a very low level create enormous potential. Added to this are rapid innovation cycles, particularly through the use of artificial intelligence, which are further energizing the market. Overall, this results in an extremely attractive and future-oriented market environment. That is why we want to bring our service portfolio to growing markets in a targeted manner and set new standards there. We also want to create added value for patients and partners worldwide by expanding our services and solutions. Of course, NX's global infrastructure and network help us to do this.
 

What industry trends or global market changes are you most closely watching?

I am particularly observing the increasing use of artificial intelligence for fast and efficient diagnosis in the field of medical imaging and diagnostics. At the same time, digitalization is playing a central role, especially the possibility of making medical expertise available remotely, even in structurally weak regions. Another important trend is the ever-closer integration of diagnosis and therapy, for example in cancer treatment, which leads to more efficient and patient-centered treatment processes.


Which past career experiences have had the greatest influence on your current leadership style and approach?

I am convinced that open, fair, and transparent partnerships are the foundation for achieving long-term economic success for both sides in business relationships. In doing so, people are always at the center of our actions, both internally and externally.
 

How would you like to further develop the partnership with the NX Group in the future?

The global footprint of the NX Group offers great potential for rolling out our services worldwide. Combined with NX's strengths in air and sea freight, we will be able to offer our customers comprehensive end-to-end solutions in the future.
 

What is the most important message you would like to convey to your employees and teams right now?

I would like to tell our team that together we have an excellent opportunity to position ourselves in a growing healthcare market and to support our partners with our services in actively shaping more efficient and global healthcare. Let's tackle this together – in line with our motto “We make healthcare work”!
