The Simon Hegele Group has appointed Oliver Urich, previously CIO, to the management board effective October 1, 2025. In addition to IT, Urich will be responsible for ESG, data protection, and HR. “The decision to bundle these future-oriented topics in terms of personnel is in line with the goal of integrating people, IT, and processes even more closely, accelerating employee development with digital formats, and strengthening our attractiveness as a future-oriented employer,” says Oliver Urich, explaining the strategic orientation of his area of responsibility.
The graduate business information scientist has been CIO at the Simon Hegele Group for over five years. He therefore not only has many years of experience as a manager in the IT sector, but also comprehensive knowledge of the contract logistics service provider. He also has over 20 years of experience in recruiting specialists and executives in the IT sector. Oliver Urich intends to apply his experience and his proximity to the market and processes in the future, particularly in the areas of process improvement, employee development, the combination of operational excellence with people excellence, and data quality and reliability in the areas of operations, AI, and ESG.
Focus on employee development and retention Simon Hegele will therefore be placing greater emphasis on digital learning paths such as microlearning, on-the-job videos, and collaborative formats, as well as transparent skill profiles. “One thing is clear: personnel development has a direct impact on productivity and retention. This makes it all the more important to have leadership that seamlessly combines training, modern tools, and attractive working environments,” says Oliver Urich. “We combine the strength of our people with the power of modern technology – from onboarding and skills platforms to secure, productive working environments. My goal is a working day that simply works, where everyone can make an impact and where we can quickly bring digital solutions to maturity together with our customers.”
