We live and work in a world that is changing noticeably. The environment, society, and the economy face major challenges, many of which cannot be solved in isolation. They require responsibility, long-term thinking, and a willingness to critically examine our own contributions.
Based on this understanding, Simon Hegele has joined the United Nations Global Compact. With this step, we are making it clear that we consistently align our business activities with internationally recognized principles and view responsibility as an integral part of our ongoing development.
Consciously taking on responsibility
The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest initiative for responsible corporate governance. The initiative supports companies in combining economic activity with responsibility toward people, the environment, and integrity. For Simon Hegele, joining the initiative is neither a formal act nor a marketing ploy. It represents a clear stance on sustainability, fair working conditions, the protection of human rights, and acting with integrity, and adheres to the initiative’s ten principles.
The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact
By joining, we commit to the ten principles of the UN Global Compact, which serve as a common framework for responsible business conduct worldwide:
Companies should …
A shared path forward
By joining the UN Global Compact, we commit to regularly disclosing our progress and reporting on our actions. Transparency is a central component of this—responsibility should be visible, verifiable, and open to further development. Many of the UN Global Compact’s themes are already a focus for us today. Joining the Compact creates a binding framework to further refine existing activities, incorporate new ideas, and live up to our responsibilities even more systematically.
Because the major challenges of our time cannot be solved alone. They require cooperation, reliability, and a willingness to take responsibility. Or, to put it another way: Making the impossible possible can only be achieved together.
