Rhenus takes over high-tech activities from Simon Hegele

Rhenus High Tech, which is part of the Rhenus Group, acquired 100 percent of the shares in Simon Hegele Hightech Transport & Service GmbH, a subsidiary of the Simon Hegele Group, on February 20. Rhenus High Tech is strengthening its market position by taking this step and at the same time creating the conditions for further developing its activities. The acquisition is still subject to approval by the German antitrust authorities.
Rhenus High Tech and Simon Hegele have been cooperating in the area of their distribution networks for more than five years now with the aim of implementing technical value-added logistics solutions for the customers of both companies.

Stefan Ulrich becomes CEO of the Simon Hegele Group

With the appointment of Stefan Ulrich as CEO of the Simon Hegele Group, the logistics
service provider, with headquarters in Karlsruhe, completes its fundamental strategic realignment. The 49 year
old, a graduate businessman, has been part of the management of the Simon Hegele Group since 2015 and is
responsible for the successful implementation of the Group-wide optimization program in this position.
Ulrich has many years of experience as a board member and management consultant in the strategic
realignment of well-known companies at home and abroad.
In his new role Ulrich is now responsible, among other things, for the expansion of the business in addition of
the finance department.

Simon Hegele’s HighTech division becomes independent

Karlsruhe/ 08.12.2019 – The Simon Hegele Company for Logistics and Service mbH is transferring its’ “HighTech Transport” division to the company “Simon Hegele HighTech Transport & Service GmbH”, which was founded for this purpose.
Stefan Ulrich, Managing Partner of Simon Hegele Holding: “Starting from Germany, we have successfully built up a unique European distribution network for sophisticated devices in recent years and are among the leading providers in this segment. We believe in the attractiveness of our services as well as the enormous growth potential. Therefore, this step is now the logical consequence for us!“

The HighTech-services are based on a distribution network specifically tailored to the transportation and assembly of packaged and unpackaged high-quality goods/products.

Customers benefit from the integrated approach and concepts specifically tailored to individual customer needs: Experienced specialists coordinate the flow of goods from the production site to the point-of-use. The service technicians, who are trained in advance on the customer product, are not only responsible for the distribution of the goods with special vehicles to the end customer, but also for the installation, commissioning and customer-specific special services. For manufacturers, this eliminates the burden of complex coordination between various service providers and at the same time improves service.

Gailing becomes GMED Healthcare Solutions GmbH

Stuttgart / 07.16.2019 – On 08.07.2019, the renaming of Gailing GmbH to GMED Healthcare Solutions GmbH was completed with the registration in the Commercial Register. The legal form as well as all contractual rights and obligations remain unchanged. The company's headquarters are still Stuttgart. In addition, the Duisburg site is regarded as an important hub for the GMED business.

For Managing Director Mike Winter, the change of name is logical: “We are continuing on a growth path and are driving the internationalization of the company forward in a targeted manner. Furthermore, the industry focus is clearly in the healthcare sector and this should also be expressed more clearly in the company name.”

Dräger and Simon Hegele expand cooperation

Raunheim/15.07.2019 – The contract service logistics provider Simon Hegele has been handling the worldwide supply of spare parts for medical technology products from Drägerwerk AG & Co. KGaA at the Raunheim site since 2011. At the end of 2017, Dräger also began to relocate its products from the safety technology sector to Raunheim. After initial difficulties, a comprehensive stabilization program brought the desired success. Today, the relocation is complete and delivery reliability is stable. Simon Hegele provides warehouse logistics, kit-building, picking, packaging, dangerous goods and customs clearance, air freight handling as well as return handling for Dräger at the Raunheim location.

Simon Hegele takes over a majority stake in eds-r Healthcare Logistics GmbH

Forchheim, 29/01/2018 Simon Hegele Gesellschaft für Logistik und Service mbH decided to acquire a majority stake of 74,9 % in eds-r Healthcare Logistics GmbH.

Eds-r Healthcare Logistics GmbH has acquiered the medical technology business of eds GmbH on January 1st, 2018. Herewith, Simon Hegele continues to enhance their previous service portfolios in the areas of removal, recycling and refurbishment of medical devices.

The registered office of eds-r Healthcare Logistics GmbH is located in Forchheim, Germany. The management is taken over by Stefan Ulrich and Mike Winter.

Simon Hegele celebrates major bidding success

Frankfurt, 17.06.2014 The Simon Hegele Group has beaten a number of famous-name competitors in the bidding procedure that began in October 2013 for a tender offered by DB Kommunikationstechnik GmbH, the ICT division of German national rail operator Deutsche Bahn. As a result, the long-established cooperation between the two companies will be expanded significantly on 1 June 2014 and extended for at least another five years. Under the contract, Simon Hegele will operate a central warehouse for DB Kommunikationstechnik, including a decentralised warehouse for cabling in Raunheim as well as various regional storage facilities for spare-parts supply throughout Germany.

Change in the shareholding structure of the Simon Hegele Group

Forchheim, 07.05.2014 Forchheim, a region located in Bavaria, became an important hub for the worldwide operating Simon Hegele group. A decisive factor is the close proximity to the long-standing customer Siemens. In Forchheim Simon Hegele is already operating for Siemens Healthcare. With the move into the new Siemens Energy Tool Center of Siemens in autumn 2014, Simon Hegele expands its cooperation with Siemens in Forchheim.
