MORE THAN JUST LOGISTICS – NEW UNLOADING TECHNOLOGY FOR LARGE MEDICAL DEVICES
After a development phase of just 4 months, the first three vehicles with a 6 ton tail lift including an electrical cable winch with deflection roll were able to begin their service.
The development of the Simon Hegele fleet management has enabled large medical devices to be loaded and unloaded without requiring excessive strength.
The feedback has only been positive after a three month pilot phase of customer deployment. Thanks to the electrical cable winch with deflection roll, magnetic resonance scanners have been able to be loaded and unloaded without the aid of a crane. The biggest test to date was unloading a 5.8 ton MR in Oschatz, which was mastered without any problems. The parking space required for delivery is much less because a crane is not needed and parking permits from the authorities are not required. This is a huge advantage for our customers in large cities.
Due to the fact the project has received nothing but positive feedback, further steps could follow soon – such as the optimisation of unloading with a 9 ton tail lift. If this is achieved, it could mean that the full range of large medical devices is covered by our own equipment for loading and unloading.
